About us & the role:

We are looking for an individual to carry out day-to-day garden maintenance for a variety of gardens that we care for. This role will be full-time (40 hours a week), 8am-4pm, Monday-Friday. For this role, it is

essential

to have a current drivers licence and be able to drive daily as part of the job.

We are a small team working across Leeds and North Yorkshire. We have a base in Otley, where we have a working yard in which we make and store our own mulch, using our green waste. We are currently developing a wood-storage area to dry and eventually sell logs. The yard is also home to our larger machinery, such as the chipper and Kubota tractor. We have a secure unit to store various hand and power tools; communal health and safety equipment; and any personal items you may wish to lock away during the work day. These spaces also allow us to carry out our own repairs on machinery and tools.

The gardens we look after are a mixture of private, commercial and communal, and vary in size and terrain. This means tailoring our working to suit the needs of each garden. We visit our jobs over a two-weekly schedule. The work is very collaborative and requires individuals who are willing to work as a team. Self-direction and initiative will be essential to achieve mutually agreed tasks, encouraging shared knowledge by asking and listening to questions.

It is

important to note

this job will include machine-based jobs, such as mowing and strimming, and manual tasks to care for the soil and plants in beds/borders. This job is physically demanding and requires working in all weathers. Working may take place in more remote areas so please bring a range of clothing, food and water. PPE equipment and first aid is provided, and specific kit can be obtained by request/at any point as jobs or needs may develop. Maintaining garden beds, borders, shrubs and trees Driving to and from jobs Pruning, weeding, planting and watering Operating machinery and power/hand tools safely Carrying out seasonal tasks (leaf clearing in autumn, hedge cutting in winter etc) Pressure washing Looking after plant health Lawn care Adhering to health and safety regulations

Requirements:

Driving licence Ideally PA1 & PA6 spraying certificates

Job spec:

40 h/w Monday-Friday Opportunities for weekend overtime (will be discussed/agreed ahead of time) Working within a small team focused on a collection of clients in a specific area
