Job position-Gardener/Driver

We are a long established grounds maintenance company based in Cheadle, Stockport that is looking to recruit a Gardener to manage a commercial gardening round that mainly covers Greater Manchester and also other areas in the North West.

The sites we maintain are communal areas of apartment blocks, garden centres and schools.

You would be responsible for the completion of jobs within a given timescale to a high standard, whilst managing other staff members and speaking directly to customers.

Most tasks involve grass cutting, strimming, hedge cutting, litter clearance, leaf blowing and application of weed killer.

The ideal candidate will have an established history of previous experience of commercial grounds maintenance.

Previous use of stander/sit down mowers would be beneficial, although training can be given.

You must have the ability to perform physically demanding tasks such as lifting heavy objects and working in various weather conditions.

Candidate must have a full UK driving license, with no more than 3 Points and be over the age of 25 for insurance reasons. Experience of driving with a trailer would be useful.

Spraying licence PA1/PA6 would be useful.

You must be in a position to carry out a clear DBS check, due to working in schools, this can be carried out through ourselves if you don't currently have one.

Due to the seasonal nature of Gardening you must be in a position to be available to work Saturdays during the growing season and be able to take the bulk of your holidays from December to March.

The job starts and finishes in Cheadle, to apply you MUST be in a position to be able to be able to reliably arrive here by 8.00am each morning.

Pay 13.00 per hour before deductions.

Standard hours 8am- 5pm Summer, ( 45 per week ) 8am-4pm Winter. ( 40 per week )

Position subject to a one month trial period.

References will be requested.
