Job Description


The Garment Technologist reports to the Technical Manager / Senior Technologist on their department and is responsible for their own product area within footwear and accessories team.

They are responsible for the development of each product within their area and ensuring that each product meets our Boden quality standards.

They manage relationships with their suppliers and drive improvements in the quality and fit of their own product area.

ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Fit and risk assess own product area independently
  • Clear communication with suppliers and maintaining good relationships with suppliers
  • Demonstrates extensive knowledge of production
  • Achievement of fit returns target for product area and input to returns analysis \xe2\x80\x93 lead returns meetings
  • Product fully legally compliant
  • Oversee management of labelling and packaging BOMs
  • Oversee management of shipment samples
  • Managing AQL process
  • Managing testing process
  • Presentation of product and feedback from product lockdown meetings
  • Managing wearer trials and fabric/trim development
  • Product developed in line with critical path
  • Proofing of customer communication (bullet point and customer queries)
  • Supplier visits carried out and visit reports completed
  • Contribute to supplier appraisal process and supplier allocation process
  • Contribute to strategy packs
  • Technical training of junior team members
  • Develop and support junior members of the wider team
  • Fabric development and contribution to fabric selection process
  • Managing market restrictions
THE EXPERIENCE WE ARE LOOKING FOR:
  • Degree or equivalent or relevant experience/qualification
  • Experience in soft accessories, jewellery and/or footwear
  • Excel and Microsoft Office skills
  • Knowledge of pattern and garment construction
  • Knowledge of yarns/fabrics
