I am working with a highly reputable, and well-known streetwear brand, who are constantly going from strength to strength.

Creating product across both Adult and Teen, the role of the Garment Technologist will work closely with design and production to develop the fit and quality of all products ensuring garments and accessories are fit for purpose from development, through to delivery in store.

Garment Technologist- The Role

• Lead fit sessions for all new shapes, ensuring the designers are happy with the visual of the product.
• Create workbooks for all styles, including construction methods, fit comments and graded specs.
• Send fit amends/ spec changes to suppliers ensuring these are clear and easy to follow, including images and annotations.
• Advise on the best construction methods/ techniques to help improve the quality and cost of product.
• Regularly review and update fit blocks and grades to ensure we are aligned with our competitors.
• Review CP dates and raise concerns with production over possible delays.
• Liaising with Design and Buying team to offer technical guidance on new product development.
• Returns - Track returns and flag anything with a high returns rate, look into issues so we can eliminate this for repeats and future orders.

Garment Technologist- The Person

• Degree in Fashion. Minimum 4 years experience within a Technical role.
• Strong understanding of pattern cutting and grading.
• Strong understanding of MS Office/ Excel/ Word, experience in Adobe would be a bonus, but not essential.
• Excellent communication and organisational skills.
• Ability to work independently.
• Flexible approach to be able to adjust to changing needs of the business.
