is responsible for overseeing the design, development, and production processes of clothing and textile items. They ensure that the garments meet quality standards, fit specifications, and regulatory requirements. Key tasks include fabric testing, liaising with designers and manufacturers, resolving production issues, and conducting fittings and adjustments. Additionally, they analyze production costs and improve manufacturing processes to enhance product quality and efficiency. Their role often requires a combination of technical knowledge, problem-solving skills, and attention to detail.
Responsibilities and Duties
Driving continuous product improvement and quality.
Working on multiple products across men's and ladies' workwear / outerwear
Creating graded size specifications for issues to factories. With a knowledge of the UK, EU and US market.
Responsible for the approval of garments and advising on all aspects of fit, construction, and quality-related issues.
Attending fit meetings with buyers and designers, translating the comments to overseas factories.
Conduct risk assessments on product safety, global regulations, and fabric/trim suitability.
Ensure consistency of fit and quality across the category and size range
Working closely within the internal design, sampling, sales, and merchandising teams, and developing strong working relationships with customer's own technical teams
Manage and support testing/safety standards ensuring all products meet min requirements - Workwear experience would be an advantage.
Arranging for product testing
Interpreting test reports and issuing wash care information
Check and approve branding/labelling on each style in line with brand guidelines
Critical Path: Ensure that all seals process/tests are achieved at each stage to critical path dates
Communicate all the information to technical teams within the factories offshore.
Oversee inspection of deliveries on relevant styles and agree actions on any rectification work required.
Manage and conduct wearer trials
Qualifications / Requirements
Overseas travel may be necessary to visit production sites to determine CSR and perform AQL inspections
Minimum 5 years experience
Exceptional verbal and written communication skills
Ability to work independently and as part of a group
Excellent problem-solving capabilities
Perceptive listening skills
