Position Overview



We are looking for a skilled and customer-focused

Gas Engineer/Plumber

to join our Northants Homes team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for installing, repairing, and maintaining domestic heating systems, boilers, plumbing fixtures, and pipework. You will ensure all work is completed safely, to the highest standard, and in compliance with UK Gas Safe and building regulations.

Key ResponsibilitiesGas & Heating



Install, service, and repair domestic boilers and central heating systems. Conduct annual boiler servicing, diagnostics, and safety checks. Identify and fix gas leaks, pressure issues, and appliance faults. Issue Gas Safety Certificates (CP12) where required. Install smart heating controls and energy-efficient solutions.

Plumbing



Install and repair pipework, taps, toilets, sinks, showers, and drainage systems. Diagnose plumbing faults and carry out efficient, long-lasting repairs. Handle emergency call-outs for leaks, bursts, and blockages. Assist with bathroom and kitchen plumbing installations.

General Maintenance



Support electrical and home maintenance teams when required. Complete renovation-related plumbing and heating tasks. Maintain accurate job records and ensure excellent customer communication.

Requirements



Qualified Gas Engineer:

Gas Safe Registered

(or willing to register before start). NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Plumbing & Heating (or equivalent). Proven experience in boiler installations, servicing, and plumbing repairs. Full UK driving licence. Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail. Professional, reliable, and able to work independently or as part of a team.

Preferred Skills



Experience with electrical diagnostics (advantage). Knowledge of renewable energy systems (heat pumps, solar thermal). Ability to upsell maintenance plans or service packages.
