We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Gas Engineer with a valid GAS SAFE certificate to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing gas systems across various settings, ensuring compliance with safety standards and regulations. This role offers an excellent opportunity for individuals with a strong mechanical background and practical skills in plumbing and the use of hand and power tools. Responsibilities
Install, maintain, and repair
gas appliances, central heating systems, and associated plumbing works
(including pipework, leaks, and fixture installations).
Conduct inspections, safety checks, and testing to ensure all work complies with
Gas Safe regulations
and current industry standards.
Diagnose faults in gas systems and appliances using specialised tools and techniques.
Perform preventative maintenance to optimise efficiency and prolong system lifespan.
Safely handle, lift, and use equipment, materials, hand tools, and power tools, applying carpentry skills as needed for installations or repairs.
Issue
GSC certificates
where required and maintain accurate documentation for compliance purposes.
Communicate effectively regarding job progress, client updates, and any necessary follow-up.
Maintain all tools and equipment in good working condition, ensuring a safe and organised work environment.
Qualifications
Gas Safe registration
required.
Proven experience in plumbing and heating systems, gas Engineer or similar role within the industry
Relevant certifications such as ACS (Approved Certification Scheme), NVQ, City & Guilds) or equivalent recognised qualifications
Ability to work independently and professionally.
Proficiency in plumbing, carpentry, and assembly work
Strong mechanical knowledge with the ability to troubleshoot complex systems
Skilled in using hand tools, power tools, and specialised equipment safely and effectively
Basic maths skills for measurements, calculations, and technical documentation
Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and efficiently
Valid driving licence suitable for operating commercial vehicles or lorries preferred but not essential
Good organisational skills with attention to detail and safety compliance
