Job Description

gasworld is looking for a Journalist to join its team and report on the fast-paced global industrial gases industry.

Based in Truro, Cornwall (UK), you will hit the ground running and be responsible for delivering content across gasworld's digital and print platforms.

This is an opportunity to be at the forefront of the clean energy transition and industrial transformation, with the industrial gases business critical to all facets of industry and decarbonisation.

The successful candidate will be an organised, creative and personable individual, capable of sourcing and writing engaging, accurate and exclusive news, as well as detailed features.

Main responsibilities



Reporting to the US Editor, you will use your skills to write and upload content to the gasworld website, deliver articles and features where assigned, conduct regular interviews, and establish and maintain relationships with industry professionals.

Your focus will be split between (primarily) gasworld's North American market coverage and global news reporting, as well as assisting with gasworld's sister platform H2 View.

Travel is a necessity in any normal year for this role, and you will be required to attend and report from key trade events in the UK and overseas.

Are you the right candidate?



Experience would be beneficial and preferred but is not essential. gasworld is, however, looking for the following skills from candidates:

Degree in Journalism, Communications or related field

Ability to write clear, confident and accurate copy

Ability to work under pressure to meet deadlines

Confident telephone manner and interviewing skills

Strong proofreading skills

Ability to build and maintain effective working relationships with a range of people

Effective planning and organising skills; able to concentrate on several areas of work at one time

Confidence in planning and executing overseas travel commitments

Proficiency in MS Office and content management systems (preferred)

Must have the right to work in the UK

A working knowledge of Adobe Suite programmes such as Photoshop and InDesign would also be preferable, but training can be given if necessary.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: 25,000.00-26,000.00 per year
