We're looking for a

Gateperson

to join our Natural Resources team, working at our wastewater site for Thames Water in Harpenden, Hertfordshire.



Location

: on site at Harpenden, Hertfordshire



Hours

: Permanent, Full Time - flexible hours are available if preferred, just let us know upon application




Responsibilities






We're looking for an experienced

Gateperson

to join our NRNN water team. In this role you'll be responsible for controlling access to the construction site, ensuring the security and safety of personnel, vehicles, and equipment. This role is crucial in maintaining site integrity, monitoring entry and exit, and enforcing site health and safety protocols.





In your day to day you'll:



Greet and direct all site visitors, staff, and delivery drivers in a professional manner. Monitor and record all vehicle and pedestrian access to and from the site, whilst checking identification and ensuring all visitors have appropriate authorisation and PPE (Personal Protective Equipment). Always maintain a tidy and secure gatehouse or site entrance, issuing and collecting visitor passes and maintaining accurate records on the electronic system. Liaise with site management, security teams, and contractors to ensure smooth site operations. Monitor traffic flow within the site and along the access roads to prevent congestion or hazards, assisting with deliveries and directing vehicles to the correct unloading areas.




What are we looking for?

role is great for you if you have:



Previous experience in a similar role (e.g., construction site, industrial yard, security). Valid CSCS card Good communication and interpersonal skills. Basic knowledge of health and safety regulations.
