Social Worker - Safeguarding and Care Planning
Location: Gateshead
Contract: Ongoing | Full-time
Gateshead Council is seeking experienced Social Workers to join their Safeguarding and Care Planning Service. This is an excellent opportunity to work in a supportive and well-structured team environment, where your skills and experience will help make a real difference to the lives of children and families.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage a caseload within the Safeguarding and Care Planning Service
- Undertake Child Protection, Public Law Outline (PLO), and Court work
- Complete thorough assessments and develop robust care plans
- Work collaboratively with children, families, and partner agencies to promote safety and wellbeing
- Prepare and present reports for meetings and court proceedings
- Interviews can be held via Microsoft Teams or face to face
- Social Work Qualification - Degree or equivalent
- At least 3 years' experience as a social worker within children's services
- Social Work England Registration
- Driving licence and access to own vehicle
