Technical Project Engineering focuses on a range of engineering disciplines e.g. electrical, mechanical, chemical, civil, structural, automation and software engineering. The activities associated with project engineering include: discipline engineering and design; planning, risk assessments; coordination of resources (personnel and equipment). Key areas of responsibility: Engineering development: Ensuring that engineering is developed with complete information and/or that all multidisciplinary information has been included. Leading development of new solutions for complex projects and challenges. Driving completion of all engineering activities on the project. Coordinating engineering discipline across several projects. Providing technical support for testing, installation and commissioning activities. Designing and conducting experiments, analyzing and interpreting the data. Preparing complete project documents in area of responsibility. May act as a design authority for a particular engineering discipline and completes engineering assignments for that discipline. Providing cost effective quality solutions and delivering within budget and contract. Ensuring adherence to safety standards and mitigation of potential risks. Creating work plans and cost estimates. Reviewing and approving scope, budget and schedule for assignments. Interacts directly with customers, officials, contractors and supply chain.
A Senior Professional (P3) applies advanced knowledge of job area typically obtained through advanced education and work experience. Responsibilities may include: Managing projects / processes, working independently with limited supervision. Coaching and reviewing the work of lower level professionals.   • Additional Hiring Information for Supplier : Experienced Secondary Engineer This opportunity will be ideal for anyone with a passion and desire to deliver within applications engineering, we are looking for someone with an eye for detail and able to prepare documentation and diagrams. In this role, you will be responsible for leading and delivering design for protection and control system and associated auxiliary system at Transmission and Dis-tribution levels. You will be respected internally for your technical skills and your ability to deliver what our clients require, on time and on budget. You will be able to confidently deliver packages of work in the field of Secondary Engineering. Responsibilities: To design check & approve P&C schemes in accordance with established standards such as ISO 9001, TPs, NGTs, ESIs, BS, IEC Standards, etc. Provide technical support, Work Breakdown Structures for tendering. Work in line with project programs and create regular updates. Enable effective project delivery by assisting with preparation of Design Intent Documents, Tech Specs for Plant and P&C equipment, Schematic Dia-grams, LVAC & battery sizing, cable sizing & settings, Approving WDs, cable schedules, core sheets, etc. On a BIM project assume the role of Task Information Manager/Task Team Interface Manager or Task Team Manager (as required), for all detailed roles and responsibilities see the BIM Manual. Able to directly liaise with clients in a confident manner and lead meetings with clients An ability to deliver technically excellent engineering designs and consultancy services Independently carry out design and review on Projects Background: Minimum qualification of HNC/HND in the related engineering field and 5 years of applicable experience or minimum of 9 years experience in lieu of HNC / HND. Proven knowledge of Transmission or Distribution practices (400kV to 11 kV) Good teamwork, Analytical and communication skills Ability in working to tight deadlines and working in high pressurised environments Working knowledge of Windows and MS Office, Autocad. Electricity supply industry experience Understanding / Knowledge of Distribution Network Operator / National Grid etc. standards and drawing practices.
