We are seeking a dedicated, passionate and outstanding

GCSE Science Tutors

and

GCSE Maths Tutors

to join our team of highly skilled educators. The ideal candidate will have a strong commitment to fostering a positive learning environment and helping students achieve their academic goals. This role involves working closely with students of various abilities and backgrounds, providing tailored support in their studies.

You will deliver our blended learning programme, combining engaging group tuition with targeted 1:1 support, ensuring each student develops the knowledge, confidence, and exam strategies they need to succeed.

Key Responsibilities



Deliver engaging group tuition

sessions (up to 14 students) following our structured weekly format: homework review (Part 1: Look), group learning (Part 2: Learn), independent learning and 1:1 support (Part 3: Level Up) Provide

1:1 and paired support

to address individual learning needs and build student confidence. Support students in developing

problem-solving skills

and

exam technique

, not just subject knowledge. Review, and give feedback on

weekly homework

to consolidate learning. Collaborate with the wider tutor team to share best practices and ensure consistent delivery across sessions. Promote a

positive, inclusive learning environment

that motivates and inspires students. Assess students' strengths and weaknesses to develop personalised learning plans. Liaise with the tutor team to ensure our lesson plans continue to cater to individual learning styles and needs as the course progresses. Monitor and evaluate student progress, adjusting teaching methods as necessary. Foster a supportive and encouraging atmosphere that promotes student confidence and motivation. Communicate effectively with parents or guardians regarding student progress and areas for improvement.

Skills



Strong subject knowledge of either

GCSE Maths or

GCSE Science

(Biology, Chemistry, Physics, Combined and Triple, AQA & Edexcel familiarity desirable). Experience teaching or tutoring at GCSE level with a

track record of improving student outcomes

. Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain complex concepts clearly and concisely. Passion for

student success and wellbeing

, not just academic results. Strong organisational skills and the ability to plan engaging lessons in line with a set structure. Friendly, approachable, and able to build rapport quickly with students and parents. Experience working with children, demonstrating patience and adaptability in various situations. Knowledge of special education practices is an advantage, enabling support for diverse learning needs. Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, to convey information clearly and effectively. Strong organisational skills to manage lesson plans, schedules, and student records efficiently.
