We are looking for a Team Leader to support, enable and develop our work within the substance misuse and criminal justice context. This role will provide day to day advice, guidance and line management support to our frontline practitioners.

You will support new practitioners through their induction periods, overseeing their induction timetable and learning. You will also provide a continuous quality assurance of new and established practitioners, work with the data lead ensuring case management system recordings are aligned to the G4S Community stability, change, resilience model and updated as required. You will review risk management plans, wellbeing plans and work with the team to identify thematic issues and trends and provide ongoing supervision of your team, encourage training attendance and oversee local team meetings.
You will also have delegated authority as agreed with the service managers.

Key Responsibilities:


Provide support, guidance and line management to practitioners, including advising on risk issues and responses. Oversee reports required for court, 16 week reviews and statutory meetings. Promote collaborative working with Probation, Police and GDAS colleagues. Assist the Service Manager in the overall running of the services, including monitoring casework to promote accurate and appropriate record keeping and ensure data reporting is maintained. Work with the service manager to ensure a consistent approach to service delivery, escalating where required and working with managers to identify opportunities to develop new initiatives or respond to the needs of those accessing services and practitioners. Represent the service at local and internal meetings as required. Assist in the promotion of creating a positive Health & Safety culture across the site including reporting accidents, incidents and near misses in a timely manner. Foster a trauma informed environment, encouraging practitioners to identify the needs behind presenting behaviours and understand trauma responses. Work flexibly across the area as required. Undertake other duties appropriate to the grade of the post.

THE IDEAL CANDIDATE:




Essential Skills


Experience of working within the substance use or related sector A high level of adaptability and passion for delivering excellence. Ability to communicate effectively with colleagues, external partners and people accessing services. Knowledge and/or experience of the Criminal Justice System. Access to own transport and ability to drive. Willingness to respond to changes within the role as it evolves.



Desirable Skills


A relevant professional qualification e.g. management / criminal justice / social care Understand the principles of Health/ Behaviour Change, Cognitive Behavioural approaches, wider methods and theories relating to rehabilitation/recovery. Knowledge of local services Welsh Speaker.
