We are seeking a talented and passionate part-time gelato (ice cream) chef to join our team. We can be flexible with working hours and days, we're also open to hiring on a freelance basis so let us know what works for you! The ideal candidate will have a strong background in gelato or Ice cream production and a genuine love for gelato preparation and production. As a gelato chef, you will play a pivotal role in producing our existing flavours and creating new flavours whilst ensuring the highest standards of food safety and hospitality are maintained.
Responsibilities
Prepare high-quality gelato in accordance with recipe specifications.
Oversee gelato preparation processes to ensure consistency and quality.
Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen, adhering to food safety standards.
Collaborate with colleagues to ensure efficient food production and service.
Assist in flavour planning and development, incorporating seasonal ingredients and culinary trends.
Train and mentor junior kitchen staff, fostering a positive team environment.
Manage inventory, including ordering supplies and minimising waste.
Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations within the kitchen.
Experience
Proven experience as a gelato chef or in a similar culinary role within the hospitality industry.
Strong knowledge of food preparation techniques, culinary methods, and food safety practices.
Ability to work well under pressure while maintaining attention to detail.
A passion for gelato with an understanding of various techniques.
Culinary qualifications or certifications are an advantage but not mandatory.
