Job Summary: general assistant

We are looking for a dedicated and compassionate General Assistant to join our care home team. The successful candidate will support the smooth running of the home by helping with domestic duties, assisting residents with non-clinical needs, and contributing to a safe, clean, and welcoming environment.

Key Responsibilities:

Maintain cleanliness and hygiene in all areas of the home, including communal areas, resident rooms, and bathrooms Assist with laundry duties: washing, drying, folding, and distributing residents' clothing and linen Help serve meals and refreshments to residents and assist with light kitchen duties if required Pot wash Provide companionship and social support to residents, promoting their comfort and wellbeing Support care staff in non-personal care tasks (e.g., setting up rooms, tidying, ) Report any concerns about resident wellbeing to senior staff Follow health and safety regulations and infection control procedures at all times Assist with stock control and ensure supplies are replenished when needed Uphold the dignity, privacy, and rights of all residents at all times

Requirements:

Previous experience in a care home or similar environment is a must Good communication and interpersonal skills Ability to work effectively as part of a team Compassionate, patient, and respectful approach toward elderly and vulnerable individuals Willingness to undertake training and development Flexibility to work various shifts, including weekends and holidays
