Job Overview

We are seeking a motivated and enthusiastic General Assistant to join our team. This role involves supporting daily operations within a busy food service environment, ensuring smooth service delivery and maintaining high standards of food safety and customer satisfaction. The ideal candidate will possess a passion for food, excellent organisational skills, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced setting. Previous restaurant or kitchen experience is desirable but not essential, as training will be provided.

Responsibilities

Assist with food preparation tasks, including basic cooking and plating. Support the serving team by delivering orders to customers promptly and courteously. Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen and dining areas in accordance with food safety standards. Ensure all food safety protocols are adhered to during handling and storage of ingredients. Manage basic maths for accurate portioning and billing processes. Upsell menu items where appropriate to enhance customer experience and maximise sales. Assist with stock replenishment and inventory checks as required. Support team members during busy periods to ensure efficient service delivery.

Skills

Experience in food preparation or working within a restaurant environment is advantageous. Knowledge of food safety regulations and practices. Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage time effectively during peak hours. Good communication skills to interact professionally with colleagues and customers. Basic maths skills for handling transactions accurately. Previous kitchen or culinary experience is preferred but not mandatory. Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment. A proactive attitude with a willingness to learn new skills such as upselling techniques.
