Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic General Assistant to join our dynamic team. This role is essential in supporting daily operations within our establishment, ensuring a seamless experience for both staff and customers. The ideal candidate will possess a strong work ethic, a passion for the culinary arts, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.

Duties

Assist in food preparation and kitchen operations, ensuring adherence to food safety standards. Provide support in various restaurant functions, including serving customers and maintaining cleanliness. Engage in upselling techniques to enhance customer experience and boost sales. Collaborate with team members to ensure efficient service during busy periods. Manage time effectively to complete tasks promptly while maintaining high-quality standards. Help maintain inventory levels and assist with stock rotation as needed. Participate in training sessions to improve culinary skills and knowledge of food safety practices. Doing bar shifts will be required, upselling pints, cocktails and shots. Ensuring a high standard of cleanliness when locking up.

Skills

Proficient in basic math's for handling transactions and managing stock levels. Experience or knowledge in food preparation and kitchen operations is highly desirable. Strong time management skills to prioritise tasks effectively in a busy environment. Ability to work collaboratively within a team while also being self-motivated. A keen interest in the culinary field, with an understanding of food safety regulations. Excellent communication skills to interact positively with customers and colleagues alike. Experience or knowledge in silver service is highly desirable. Experience or knowledge in bar work is highly desirable. Experience or knowledge in housekeeping is highly desirable.
The job pays 13 an hour and comes with free accommodation at our sister hotel and staff meals.
