Job Description

Are you passionate about delivering outstanding hospitality service? Do you have previous experience in a hospitality or customer service environment? We're looking for a reliable and enthusiastic General Assistants to join us.

Main purpose of the job:

To deliver great service to the customers and visitors to the restaurant.

To work with the catering team to ensure all service promises are properly delivered on time and to a high standard.

Key Result Areas:

1. Food Preparation and Production

To support the Head Chef in food production as directed and to the standard specified

To set up the chiller cabinets in advance of service in the format agreed with the Catering Manager ensuring all products is displayed in an attractive manner

Ensure the counter is restocked as required during service time

Ensure you are fully aware of the menu on offer each day and understand their makeup and content of individual dishes

To be flexible & able to work in all departments if required.

2. Hygiene, Health and Safety

Complete all cleaning tasks as identified by the cleaning schedule using the appropriate cleaning materials in a safe and responsible manner

Report any equipment and/or building fabric faults and any hygiene, health and safety hazards to your line manager

Understand and adhere to all Health & Safety regulations and COSHH legislation

Maintain excellent personal hygiene

Wear the correct uniform and if necessary safety shoes as directed ensuring they are looked after

Wear Personal Protective Equipment, as required, when carrying out specific duties

Comply with all Company hygiene and health & safety procedures ensuring compliance with the company health and food safety manual

Work in a safe and tidy manner at all times, and show consideration to colleagues

Adhere to the Company Handbook

Where required keep temperature records in accordance with the policy, reporting variances immediately to your line manager

3. Customer Service

To actively inform and advise customers of the dishes available on the menu

To smile and adopt a welcoming attitude to all customers

To deal with customer comments in a courteous manner referring them to the Catering Manager as necessary

To serve using the presentation standards and relevant garnish as advised by the Head Chef

To ensure the restaurant is clean and tidy at all times and pay attention to the overall environment making it inviting for our customers

4. Team Effectiveness

To be an active member of the catering team supporting colleagues in the delivery of the overall contract

To attend all necessary training courses and team meetings as required by your manager

To ensure you work to the defined standards of Graysons and the client, asking for guidance and clarification as necessary

5. Honesty

Act in a professional manner at all times having the companies best interests at heart

Pass on any information to your manager that you believe may be important to Graysons Restaurants

Keep all company matters and financial information confidential

Treat all company and client property with care and respect

Promote Graysons Restaurants and maintain a positive company image

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

Pay: 13.85 per hour

Expected hours: 25 - 37.5 per week
