Job Description

Wood is recruiting for General Assistants for Shell ONEGas Clipper on a 2*2 rotation, on a permanent basis. This role mobilises from Norwich.



Applicants must already hold all offshore minimum certification - Survival, Medical & MIST.



As a General Assistant, you will play a vital role in the day-to-day operations of the deck. Working under the direction of the Material's Coordinator and indirect supervision, you will assist with cargo handling, lifting operations, and general maintenance, ensuring all activities are carried out safely and effectively.




This is a physically demanding role that requires commitment, teamwork, and a strong focus on safety. In return, you will gain offshore experience, professional training, and opportunities for career progression.



Key Responsibilities



Support all deck operations, including loading, offloading, and safe movement of equipment and materials. Maintain a clean and safe deck area through general labouring, housekeeping, and waste management. Contribute to maintenance activities, including painting, cleaning, and basic equipment care. Participate actively in toolbox talks, safety meetings, and emergency drills. Work flexibly with other departments to support wider offshore operations as required. Strong teamwork and collaboration skills

About You



Previous experience in an offshore, marine, or industrial environment is advantageous but not essential. Valid offshore survival and medical certification (BOSIET/FOET with CA-EBS, OGUK/ENG1) Banksman/Slinger certification (desirable). Strong safety awareness and the ability to follow instructions precisely. Physically fit with the ability to work in challenging offshore conditions. A positive team player with good communication skills and a willingness to learn. Strong IT literacy, with excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office (particularly Excel). Comfortable learning and adapting to new systems or software quickly.
