Overview

We are seeking a reliable, hard-working, friendly and efficient person to join our small team at our 11-room boutique hotel in Summertown, Oxford, generally working 2-3 days a week 7.30am -2pm, including some weekends. There will also be opportunities for overtime to cover when other staff are on holiday/absent so flexibility is important. The position will include breakfast preparation for our hotel guests, cleaning/tidying up afterwards, cleaning guest rooms and common areas to exceptional standards and presentation, plus basic reception work. The successful candidate will be well-organised and able to efficiently prepare breakfast for guests single-handedly (mainly setting out cold food items and cooking some basic hot food - i.e. scrambled egg, sausages etc), have good attention to detail, enjoy interacting with guests and take pride in ensuring that breakfast and rooms are offered to the highest standards for our guests and ensuring they have a wonderful, memorable stay with us. This position requires a strong work ethic, reliability and a commitment to delivering exceptional service and the highest standards of food preparation, cleanliness, tidiness and hygiene.

Duties

Prepare and present breakfast for guests and clean and tidy kitchen and breakfast room afterwards Interact with guests at breakfast time, (good level of English is therefore essential) ensuring guests feel well looked-after Perform efficient and thorough cleaning of guest rooms and bathrooms, common areas, including dusting, vacuuming, changing linen etc Ensure the rooms and common areas are presented beautifully for our guests Follow health and safety regulations to maintain a safe work environment Provide excellent customer service by responding to guest requests courteously and efficiently Learn basic reception duties, as needed

Requirements

Ideally have previous food preparation ,housekeeping, reception experience, in the hospitality sector, although training will be provided Ideally already have Food Hygiene Certificate, Level 2 minimum Must be able to work some weekends Must be reliable, and work well as part of a small, friendly team Strong attention to detail with the ability to follow instructions and checklists carefully and correctly Excellent time management skills, able to prioritise tasks effectively. Ability to work independently, as well as part of a team A positive attitude with a commitment to providing outstanding service You MUST already have Right to Work in the UK or be a British citizen You MUST have a high level of English You MUST be able to reliably arrive to start work in Oxford at 7.30am
