Key responsibilities

Greet customers warmly and create a welcoming atmosphere. Take orders accurately and efficiently on the counter be able to communicate effectively. Serve food and beverages promptly, maintaining a high level of attention to detail. Handle customer complaints and resolve issues in a professional and courteous manner. Utilise the point-of-sale system to process orders accurately. Handle cash, credit card transactions, adhering to cash handling procedures. Clean and sanitise tables, counters, and service areas regularly. Ensure the cafe's cleanliness and tidiness by sweeping, mopping, and taking out rubbish. Monitor and restock condiments, napkins, cutlery, and other supplies as needed. Assist in monitoring inventory levels and report any shortages to the management. Work closely with the kitchen staff to ensure timely and accurate food delivery. Communicate effectively with team members to ensure smooth operations. Be aware of COSHH regulations and use appropriate protective equipment when using chemicals. Assist team members when needed, such as running food or drinks to tables during busy periods. Maintain a positive work environment by fostering teamwork and cooperation. Adhere to food safety and hygiene regulations to maintain a safe environment. Follow proper hand hygiene procedures and maintain personal cleanliness. Ensure the cafe is compliant with health and safety standards at all times. Support the kitchen teams in small preparation works with vegetable and potato and salads.

Skills required

Previous experience in a similar customer service role, preferably in a cafe or restaurant setting. Excellent communication, interpersonal skills and adaptability in a fast-paced environment. Strong attention to detail and ability to multitask. Friendly and approachable demeanour, with a genuine desire to provide exceptional customer service. Ability to work well under pressure and handle customer complaints effectively. Be aware of COSHH regulations and use appropriate protective equipment when using chemicals. Adhering to dress code policies. Assist team members when needed, such as running food or drinks to tables during busy periods. Maintain a positive work environment by fostering teamwork and cooperation. Adhere to food safety and hygiene regulations to maintain a safe environment. Follow proper hand hygiene procedures and maintain personal cleanliness. Ensure the cafe is compliant with health and safety standards at all times.
Job Type: Part-time

Pay: 12.49 per hour

Expected hours: 7.5 per week

Work Location: In person
