We're looking for a motivated

General Assistant

to join our friendly team at

The Old Mill Inn

, an award-winning hotel, bar & restaurant in the heart of Pitlochry.

This varied role involves supporting our kitchen and wider operations team with key back-of-house duties, including kitchen portering, unpacking deliveries, and maintaining high hygiene standards.

Duties

Washing crockery, cutlery, pots, and pans to maintain smooth kitchen operations Supporting the kitchen team with cleaning and preparation tasks Assisting with the receipt, checking, and storage of deliveries Ensuring back-of-house areas are clean, organised, and safe at all times Emptying bins, maintaining recycling processes, and adhering to food hygiene procedures Occasionally supporting front-of-house operations during busy periods
We're looking for a positive, reliable team player who thrives in a busy hospitality environment.

Essential attributes:

Smart and presentable appearance Good spoken English and communication skills Excellent attention to detail Strong work ethic and the ability to work efficiently under pressure Able to work independently and as part of a team

Desirable attributes:

Previous experience in a similar kitchen or hospitality role Knowledge of food hygiene and health & safety standards
