An experienced, enthusiastic, competent

general builder

required for an

immediate start

within a well-established family construction business based near Battle, East Sussex. The chance for the successful candidate to work on several different projects from National Trust, historical sites and listed properties to new builds, refurbishments and conversions both in a commercial and domestic setting. Our projects are generally based in East Sussex and Kent but we have worked on properties both in West Sussex, London and Brighton and Hove.

Responsibilities and Duties

Carry out general building maintenance duties (internal and external)

Basic carpentry, brick laying, stonework and plastering skills

Complete painting, decorating and basic electrical skills.

Inspect, diagnose and repair building fixtures and fittings.

Identfy and report hazards or defects

Keep accurate records and follow health and safety standards

Work both independently and as part of a team

Qualifications and skills

3 + years' experience in general building.

Excellent communication skills.

Must have a full UK driving license

Computer literate

Good literacy and numeracy skills

Good knowledge of tools, equipment and safety regulations.

Friendly, reliable and customer focused.

Temporary Full time position for 4 week fixed term contract with a possibility to extend.
