General Builder / Machine Operative

to join our team on a temporary basis.

Role Overview

You will carry out a mix of general building tasks, site preparation, and machine operations. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys hands-on construction work and has experience operating machinery such as excavators, telehandlers, or mini-diggers.

Key Responsibilities

Carry out general building work, including groundwork, demolition, and material handling. Operate plant and machinery safely (excavators, mini-diggers, telehandlers, etc.). Assist in site preparation: leveling, laying Type 1 stone, creating pathways, and tidying materials. Remove waste and redundant materials, maintaining a safe and organised site. Support installation of fencing, structures, and other construction works as required. Work under the guidance of site supervisors and ensure tasks are completed efficiently.

Requirements

Proven experience in general building or construction work. Experience operating machinery such as 5-tonne excavators, mini-diggers, or telehandlers. CSCS card or equivalent (preferred). Ability to work safely outdoors in all weather conditions. Strong teamwork skills, reliability, and a proactive attitude. Full UK driving licence is advantageous.
