General Builder
Newport - travel throughout UK to other permanent sites
Salary - \xc2\xa324,000 to 28,000
Permanent
Monday to Friday, 9:00am - 5:30pm

Your tasks will include conducting general repairs, fitting interiors, carpentry, painting and decorating, and installation and maintenance of electrical systems, and general construction work in our 14 retail stores

Essential Skills

• Possession of an up-to-date CSCS Card
• Must have full UK driving licence and access to own vehicle
• NVQ Level 2 in Electrical installation
• Possession of a Forklift licence
• Possession of a Construction Plant Competence Scheme (CPCS) card to operate an excavator.
• Close attention to detail and steadiness
• Solid organizational skills including attention to detail and multi-tasking skills
• A hands-on, can-do attitude with initiative to work well individually and in a team

Job Responsibilities

• Fitting interiors
• Perform manual repairs when necessary
• Conduct general upkeep procedures such as carpentry
• Perform maintenance of electrical systems
• Installing and repairing electrical wiring and fixtures
• Calculating the materials needed for a project
• Preparing surfaces for decorating
• Applying primers and undercoats, or varnishes and glazes
• Painting and wallpapering
• Erecting, maintaining and dismantling scaffolding
• Using heavy machinery where appropriate
• Soundproofing and waterproofing structures
• Laying pipes
• Completing groundworks and labouring tasks
• Operating forklifts, diggers and power tools
