to join the New Directions service. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining high standards of cleanliness, hygiene, and order throughout the premises, ensuring a pleasant and safe environment for service users, staff, and visitors.
This is a hands-on role that also includes assisting in kitchen duties and supporting meal and refreshment services when required.
Key Responsibilities
Perform general cleaning and domestic tasks in accordance with daily and weekly cleaning schedules.
Carry out kitchen-related domestic duties, including assisting with meal preparation and serving refreshments.
Use cleaning materials, equipment, and machinery safely and appropriately, storing all items securely after use.
Maintain high standards of hygiene and cleanliness across all designated areas.
Adhere to all Health & Safety regulations and take reasonable care for your own safety and that of others.
Maintain accurate cleaning and hygiene records as required.
Participate in supervision meetings, training, and team discussions to promote good communication and best practice.
Work flexibly across shifts, including weekends or bank holidays as part of a planned rota.
Support the service in line with safeguarding, equality, and GDPR policies.
Ideal Candidate Profile
Essential Skills & Experience
Experience performing general cleaning and domestic duties.
Ability to operate basic cleaning and laundry equipment safely (e.g. powered floor polishers, kitchen appliances).
Good communication and teamwork skills.
Reliable, punctual, and adaptable approach to work.
Ability to maintain cleanliness to a high standard.
Positive, respectful, and enthusiastic attitude.
Understanding of and commitment to workplace values such as kindness, teamwork, and reliability.
Desirable
Experience working in a care, housing, or support service environment.
Awareness of infection control and food hygiene practices.
Pre-Employment Requirements
Enhanced DBS Check Required.
Proof of Right to Work in the UK.
