Job summary




Working within General Duties Flight at RAF Cranwell this role provides administrative support to the flight and the wider Support Pillar. Involved with production of orders, monitoring and administrative management of duties and compilation and transmission of records the position plays a vital role in the orderly running of a critical section at RAF Cranwell.


This position is advertised at 37 hours per week.

Job description




The position works within General Duties Flight and is a vital role in the orderly management of the Station, contributing significantly to core requirements such as the production and issue of orders, the maintenance of duty rosters and the compilation of records. Working within a team comprising Regular military, reserve personnel and civil servants the role is varied and busy interacting with a wide range of personnel on a daily basis. A dynamic role, the successful candidate will find themselves interacting with a wide range of personnel across the unit a gaining an excellent understanding of the administrative running of an RAF Station.

Under the line management of Officer Commanding General Duties Flight:

Station Orders:




a. Compile, maintain & distribute Station Routine Orders & After Orders as required.


b. Maintain master copies & annual review of Station Repeat Orders.

Commanding Officers (COs) Inspections:




a. Schedule COs Inspections, publish timetable, organise transport requirements.


b. On Ad Hoc occasion attend a COs Inspection to carry out an audit for COs Property.


c. Maintain & oversee COs Property - ensuring all property is listed and labelled.

Station Duties:




a. Maintain Additional Duties List


b. Maintain the Orderly Officer Folder and its Recall list for RAF Cranwell

Where business needs allow, some roles may be suitable for a combination of office and home-based working. This is a non-contractual arrangement where all office-based employees will be expected to spend a minimum of 60% of their working time in office, subject to capacity and any required workplace adjustments. Requirements to attend other locations for official business, or work in another MOD office, will also count towards this level of attendance.
