for demanding industries, including aerospace, automotive, energy, medical, and defence. This role is Full-time, working 5 over 7, 9am to 5pm.
Job Summary
Our General Operations Manager will be responsible for leading the daily operations of the CNC machining team which requires a strong engineering background and hands-on knowledge of Computer Numerical Control (CNC) machines to optimize production, manage resources, and ensure all products meet high-quality standards and are delivered on time.

Key Responsibilities
Operational Leadership
: Oversee end-to-end operations, including production scheduling, capacity planning, and workflow optimization.
Technical Oversight
: Utilise an in-depth understanding of CNC programming (G-code, CAM software), setup, and multi-axis machining to troubleshoot issues and improve manufacturing methods.
Quality Assurance
: Implement and enforce quality control standards, perform root cause analysis (RCA) for defects, and ensure compliance with industry standards
Team Management and Development
: Lead, mentor, and train a team of CNC operators, machinists, and engineers to ensure a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.
Process Improvement
: Drive Lean manufacturing initiatives (e.g., 5S, Kaizen, SMED) to enhance efficiency, reduce waste, and improve overall equipment effectiveness.
Maintenance and Safety
: Coordinate preventative maintenance schedules for all CNC machinery and ensure strict adherence to all health and safety regulations.
Resource and Financial Management
: Manage departmental budgets, monitor expenses, procure materials and tools, and analyse production data to optimize profitability.
Collaboration
: Liaise with other departments, such as Design Engineering, Sales, and Supply Chain, to ensure seamless New Product Introduction and overall business alignment
Qualifications and Skills
Education
: A bachelor's degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Manufacturing, or related field) is typically required; relevant work experience may be considered.
Experience
: Proven experience in a manufacturing environment, with significant experience in a management role overseeing CNC operations.
Technical Skills
:
Strong knowledge of manufacturing production and processes.
Ability to read and interpret complex engineering drawings and blueprints.
Familiarity with CAD/CAM software and machine maintenance/troubleshooting.
Proficiency in using precision measuring instruments.

Exceptional leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
