About The Role
Role: General Hand/Janitor REF 92697
Contract Length: Until 26/06/2026 - Fully on site Monday to Thursday 7.30 - 3.30, Friday 7.30 - 2.30 (one day Monday - Thursday until 4.00).
Location: Dunblane
IR35: Inside
Pay Rate to Intermediary: Market Rate
Security Clearance: BPSS and Disclosure Scotland
Spinwell is recruiting for a General Hand/Janitor for an excellent opportunity within the public sector.
RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE GENERAL HAND/JANITOR

• Tasks requiring manual handling such as the movement of furniture and Technical equipment;
• Helping to identify and/or rectify minor faults which are not in scope for the contract.
• Clearance of burn areas especially when a risk of flooding is apparent, including post-flood clean-up activity;
• Routine collection of waste from around the school and it's appropriate disposal, including materials for recycling;
• Snow & ice clearance activities over and above the Contractor or if the Contractor is unable to respond in severe weather conditions;
• Road and path clearance using both automotive and manual techniques using appropriate machinery such as the road sweeper.
• Operation and first line maintenance of motorised equipment.This includes re-fuelling which must be carried out in line with H&S regulations;
• Routine compliance checks on all ladders, fire doors and windows in pupils' accommodation & recording the outcome in return to the FM;
• Carrying out minor repairs, redecoration works and refurbishments which are pre-planned and not in scope for the contract;
• Carrying out additional duties within their level of competency & only when the LM is aware, has approved & has conducted all appropriate pre-task planning such as risk assessments, safe systems of work and resource planning;
• Miscellaneous / ad hoc tasks.
