About Us:

Benbradagh Care Home is a well-established residential care home located in Maghera. We provide high-quality care to our residents in a safe, comfortable, and welcoming environment. We are now looking to add a skilled Handyman to our team who will be responsible for maintaining and improving the facility's general upkeep.

Job Overview:

As the Handyman at Benbradagh, you will play a key role in ensuring that our care home facilities remain in excellent working order. You will be responsible for handling general maintenance, repairs, and improvements within the care home, helping to ensure the safety and comfort of both residents and staff.

Key Responsibilities:

Perform general maintenance and repair tasks around the facility, including plumbing, electrical, and carpentry work. Conduct routine inspections of buildings and equipment to identify issues and arrange repairs. Respond promptly to maintenance requests from staff and residents. Assist in setting up, maintaining, and improving the care home's internal and external spaces. Ensure that all tools and equipment are maintained and kept in good working order. Support any renovations or upgrades as required. Assist with maintaining health and safety standards within the care home.

Requirements:

Previous experience in a handyman or maintenance role, preferably in a care home or similar setting. Knowledge of basic plumbing, electrical, and carpentry tasks. Ability to work independently and take initiative. Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail. Good communication skills and a friendly, helpful attitude. Must be over the age of 18 to apply. Must be living in Northern Ireland (we do not offer sponsorship). A full UK driving license is preferred (if applicable).
Job Type: Part-time

Pay: From 12.21 per hour

Expected hours: 24 - 30 per week
