Target Catering Equipment is a family-run business specialising in the design, manufacture, and installation of bespoke stainless steel commercial kitchen equipment. Known for our quality craftsmanship and excellent service, we are looking for a hardworking and reliable General Workshop Assistant & Labourer to join our team.
This is initially a
temporary position supporting a large contract
, with the
potential to become a permanent role
for the right candidate.
Role Overview
This varied role offers hands-on experience in both workshop and site environments. You will assist with commercial kitchen rip-outs, workshop fabrication support, equipment maintenance, and all aspects of kitchen fit-outs.
Over time, the role may develop to include responsibilities such as:

Key Responsibilities
Workshop Duties:
Assist in the manufacture and assembly of stainless steel catering equipment.
Support tradespeople with preparation and movement of materials.
Operate basic hand and power tools safely (training provided).
Maintain a clean and organised workshop.
Handle unloading and storage of deliveries.
On-Site Labouring Duties:
Assist with kitchen rip-outs, fit-outs, and installation work.
Carry out general labouring tasks including dismantling and clearing waste.
Support equipment servicing and maintenance.
Follow all site health and safety procedures.
Skills and Experience
Essential:
Physically fit and able to perform manual handling tasks.
Reliable, punctual, and eager to learn.
Positive attitude and ability to work within a team.
Desirable:
Interest or experience in any of the following:
Metalwork, fabrication, or welding
Electrical or plumbing work
Equipment installation and maintenance
Previous workshop or construction experience.
Full UK driving licence.
CSCS card (or willingness to obtain one - supported by employer).
