Job Overview

We are seeking a dedicated individual to join our small team of skilled Road Surfacing operatives based in Devon and Cornwall.

This role is primarily to operate our tack-coat sprayer equipment and visit various site locations daily to help prepare help the road surface ready for resurfacing.

For this role, our ideal candidate is located in the Newton Abbot area and is willing to travel as we work on sites all over Devon and Cornwall.

A full driving licence is essential and candidates must be over age 21 to comply with our company vehicle insurance requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

Apply surfacing materials according to specific requirements and industry standards. Ensure proper handling of materials, ensuring they are applied evenly and in correct quantities. Conduct regular checks on machinery and equipment to ensure they are in good working condition and report any faults or maintenance needs. Follow all safety procedures and wear protective equipment to ensure a safe working environment. Assist with site preparation, including setting up safety barriers, signage, and traffic management to protect the crew and the public. Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, including working safely in potentially hazardous conditions such as busy roadways or adverse weather.

Skills Required

Ability to work in a physically demanding environment. A strong work ethic with the ability to work independently or as part of a team, under the supervision of a Foreman or Site Manager. CSCS card is essential for the role. Candidate must already have a CSCS card or be willing to obtain one ASAP. Valid driving Licence is essential. Preferred Experience

Previous experience in road surfacing is preferred but not essential. Previous experience or training in operating machinery and construction equipment safely is desirable but not essential

Working Conditions:

Work is typically carried out outdoors in all weather conditions. Occasional weekend work during peak seasons Health and safety measures, including personal protective equipment, must be adhered to at all times.
