Job Description
This is a General Ledger Accountant role working for a growing organisation in Slough. This role will requires someone with GL, cashbook management and process improvement experience.
This General Ledger Accountant position, will involve the following responsibilities:
- Completion of assigned general accounting activities
- Working with the SSC team for:
- Standardisation of cash management and banking activities including forecasting and foreign exchang
- Standardisation of Accruals & Prepayments
- Standardisation of intercompany recharge invoicing
- Standardisation of VAT and Intrastat processes
- Automation and improvements to monthly balance sheet reconciliations
- Improvements in compliance with financial & business controls
- Support to Internal and External audits
- Support to the reporting and filing of returns for Overseas (France & Belgium) Indirect Tax, VAT and Intrastat Declarations
- Support to Shared Service Projects as required
The ideal General Ledger Accountant will have the following:
- Knowledge of SAP - Essential
- Strong numeric background. - Essential
- Commercial experience working in a finance environment - Essential
- Excellent Microsoft Office especially in Excel (Lookup, Pivots, etc.) - Essential
- The ability to identify improvements and influence stakeholders
- A good team player with a flexible approach and the ability to work on own initiative and in teams is essential.
- Knowledge and experience of Project Management techniques to manage change
This General Ledger Accountant role operates on a hybrid working pattern and has the potential to become permanent.
