Are you a multi-skilled maintenance person with a hands on approach and a caring attitude? We are currently seeking a reliable and proactive maintenance person to join our friendly team at Zoar Care Home, this is a temporary role providing essential support during a period of staff absence.

About the Role

:

As the Maintenance person you will be responsible for ensuring the home remains safe, comfortable and well maintained for our residents and staff. Your duties will include:

Carrying out minor repairs and general maintenance tasks throughout the home. Undertaking safety checks on equipment (including profiling beds, wheelchairs, hoists), removing faulty equipment from use and reporting faults to the equipment providers for repairs/replacements. Undertaking decorating work, painting, wallpapering, basic repairs. Performing small plumbing jobs (fixing leaks, unblocking sinks/toilets). Removing old furniture and installing new items safely and efficiently when required. Supporting the home in maintaining a welcoming and safe environment for residents, staff and visitors (gritting pathways in bad weather, ensuring clear pathways inside and outside the home). 3 to 4 days per week, 8am to 4pm, between Monday to Friday. (Weekends and Public holidays are not normally worked, however some flexibilty may be required in a emergency situations).

What we are looking for:

Proven experience in a similar maintenance or facilities role. A broad skillset including decorating, minor plumbing and general DIY. Ability to complete health & safety and maintenance checks accurately using digital tools (tablet/computer). A good understanding of regulatory and safety requirements in a residential or care setting. Friendly professional approach with a can-do attitude Ability to work independently and manage workload effectively.
