We are looking for an energetic, enthusiastic, and hands-on General Manager to lead the day-to-day running of the Abergavenny Hotel, a friendly and well-loved 20-bedroom hotel with a busy weekend bar.

About the Role

As General Manager, you will take full responsibility for the operation of the hotel and bar, including:

Overseeing the daily running of a 20-bedroom hotel Managing and developing a small, close-knit team Creating staff rotas, managing shifts, and handling recruitment Leading a busy weekend bar, with freedom to develop an innovative and exciting bar offer Ensuring excellent guest experience from check-in to check-out Handling overnight on-call duties for resident guests Managing stock, suppliers, and basic financial controls Maintaining high standards of service, cleanliness, and compliance Over time, responsible for marketing and business development initiatives

About You

You will be:

Passionate about hospitality and guest experience Confident running a small operation with autonomy Organised, proactive, and comfortable leading from the front Experienced in bar and/or hotel management (essential) Comfortable with live-in hospitality and overnight on-call responsibilities Creative, with ideas to grow and refresh the bar and guest offering A natural people-person who can motivate and support a small team
