We're looking for a hands-on, people-focused General Manager to lead the team at the Norfolk Arms Hotel, a charming Georgian Coaching Inn nestled beneath the battlements of Arundel Castle.

About Us

The Norfolk Arms Hotel is a 4-star, 39-bedroom property offering guests a quintessentially British place to eat, drink, and stay. With elegant banqueting rooms for weddings and events of up to 90 people, plus The Norfolk Tap Arundel's favourite craft beer and coffee shop, we're at the heart of Sussex hospitality. Guests can enjoy all fresco dining in our secret garden, sip local wines from Tinwood Estate, or sample award-winning Sussex beers and gins.

This is not a desk job. This is a hands-on leadership role where you'll be at the heart of the action, shaping the guest experience and inspiring your team to deliver exceptional service.

What You'll Be Doing

Leading the day-to-day operations of the hotel with a focus on guest experience and staff development.

Acting as an ambassador for the Hotel and for Arundel, building strong local relationships.

Driving revenue opportunities through creative thinking, events, and marketing initiatives.

Supporting and mentoring your team - from the kitchen to reception - ensuring high standards and a positive, motivated working environment.

Overseeing health, safety, and compliance while maintaining a welcoming, vibrant atmosphere.

What We're Looking For

At least 3 years' experience in hotel management, a natural leader who is approachable, energetic, and thrives in a hands-on role. Someone commercially astute, but equally passionate about hospitality, heritage, and community. A creative thinker who enjoys developing new ideas and making a genuine difference to guests and staff alike.
