We are seeking an experienced,
hands-on leader
to step in, take
full ownership
of the business, drive efficiency on the shop floor, and grow our sales figures. This is a critical appointment, offering full autonomy and accountability, with a direct line to the Owner.
The Challenge: Leading from the Front
This is an all-encompassing role. You will be the primary operational and commercial figurehead, responsible for the entire business performance from raw materials to final cash in the bank.
Key Responsibilities
Financial & Strategic Direction:
Deliver
full P&L accountability
. Set and execute the annual business plan, manage all capital and operational budgets, and ensure the business achieves its aggressive profitability targets.
Operations & Manufacturing:
Oversee all production, quality control, and supply chain logistics. Champion
Continuous Improvement
and Lean methodologies to maximise output and minimise waste on the
shop floor
. Ensure rigorous H&S compliance.
Commercial Growth:
Steer the sales and marketing strategy. Actively manage key accounts, set robust sales targets, and identify new business opportunities to expand our market presence.
Team Management (25 Staff):
Inspire, manage, and mentor the full workforce--including production, administration, and sales personnel. Handle all recruitment, performance reviews, and staff development, ensuring a focused and positive
work culture
.
Stakeholder Liaison:
Act as the main point of contact for key suppliers, customers, and regulatory bodies.
Who We're Looking For
We are looking for a natural leader with a proven track record of delivering results in a similar-sized environment.
Required Skills & Experience
At least 5 years of senior-level management experience
(e.g., General Manager or Operations Director) gained within a UK-based
Manufacturing SME
.
Driving both operational and sales performance.
Excellent technical knowledge of manufacturing processes and a deep understanding of quality and efficiency standards.
Strong
commercial flair
and the ability to negotiate effectively and secure new business.
Highly credible, decisive, and pragmatic--someone who is as comfortable closing a sale as they are troubleshooting on the production line.
