We are looking for an exceptional General Manager to oversee the operation of a very unique site located in the Brecon Beacons National Park. The Property is a 10 bedroom Boutique Hotel that has gone through a full refurbishment over the past 2 years.
The General Manager will oversee the whole site working with the head chef to set high standards and deliver the very best customer journey. Candidate must have experience of hotel booking systems, working within a quality hotel/restaurant, ideally AA rosette level, and should be energetic and enjoy managing and developing a small but professional team.
Salary of 40,000 - 45,000.
Reporting directly to the owner the candidate but will have the full responsibility for the site.
- Oversee all aspects of the restaurant operations, including front-of-house and back-of-house activities
- Ensure high-quality customer service and guest satisfaction
- Manage and train staff members, including hiring, scheduling, and performance evaluations
- Monitor inventory levels and order supplies as needed
- Develop and implement strategies to increase sales and profitability
- Maintain a safe and clean working environment
- Collaborate with the culinary team to create and update menu offerings
- Enforce food safety standards and ensure compliance with health regulations
- Handle customer complaints and resolve issues in a timely manner
- Stay updated on industry trends and implement best practices
Qualifications:
- Previous experience in the hospitality industry in a managerial role is essential
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and inspire a team
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Knowledge of food preparation techniques and culinary trends - A comprehensive understanding of wine pairing
- Familiarity with restaurant operations and kitchen management
- Ability to handle multiple tasks and prioritize effectively
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Understanding of financial principles, such as budgeting and cost control
