We are seeking for a new opening a dynamic and experienced General Manager to lead our new lounge / restaurant in portishead , ensuring the highest standards of service and operational excellence. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in the culinary and hospitality sectors, with a passion for food preparation and team management. This role requires exceptional leadership skills to foster a positive work environment while delivering an outstanding experience for our guests.

Responsibilities

Oversee daily operations of the restaurant, ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations. Lead and manage kitchen staff, providing guidance in food preparation and presentation. Develop and implement operational policies and procedures to enhance efficiency. Monitor inventory levels, ordering supplies as necessary to maintain optimal stock. Foster a culture of teamwork, motivating staff to deliver excellent service. Handle customer inquiries and complaints with professionalism and tact. Collaborate with the culinary team to create innovative menus that reflect current trends. Conduct regular training sessions for staff on hospitality standards and best practices. Manage financial aspects of the restaurant, including budgeting and cost control.

Qualifications

Proven experience in a managerial role within the restaurant or hospitality industry. Strong culinary knowledge with hands-on experience in food preparation. Exceptional leadership skills with the ability to inspire and motivate a team. Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written. Experience in bartending is an advantage but not essential. Strong organisational skills with attention to detail. Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends as required.
