General Manager - The Old Bank Ramsbottom



The Old Bank Ramsbottom is an established and well-loved cafe bar, known for quality food and drink, live events, and a welcoming atmosphere at the heart of the local community. We are seeking an experienced, proactive General Manager to lead our venue and team. This is a full-time role ideal for someone with strong experience across both front of house and back of house operations, and a passion for driving standards, performance, and growth.

As General Manager, you will have full responsibility for the day-to-day operation of The Old Bank Ramsbottom. You will work closely with the Assistant Manager and Kitchen Manager, while reporting directly to the Owner and Operations Director, ensuring strong leadership, clear communication, and consistent delivery across the business.

Key Responsibilities



Overseeing all front of house operations, including service standards, staffing, and guest experience Raising and maintaining high levels of customer service, particularly during evening and weekend service Managing back of house operations and liaising closely with the Kitchen Manager Working alongside the Assistant Manager to lead, train, and motivate a team of approximately 20 staff Managing rotas, stock control, and operational budgets Monitoring profit and loss statistics and using insights to drive performance Managing and maintaining the venue's social media platforms Booking and coordinating live acts and events, ensuring they align with the venue's brand and audience Keeping up to date with current hospitality and local market trends to ensure the venue remains competitive Ensuring full compliance with health & safety and licensing regulations
About You

Proven management experience within the hospitality industry (at least 2 years management experience) Strong understanding of both FOH and BOH operations Commercially aware, with experience reviewing P&L and performance data Confident leader with excellent organisational and communication skills Flexible and available to work days and evenings

Working Pattern



Tuesday to Saturday working week (apart from bank holidays) Includes days and evenings Bank holidays

What We Offer



Salary: 36,000 - 40,000, depending on experience, 45-hour working week (may vary based on business needs). Plus performance bonus tied to KPI's. This is a very hands-on position that requires someone comfortable being on the floor, leading shifts, and stepping in where needed -- particularly during busy evenings and events. You'll be expected to set the standard for service, support your team in real time, and take ownership of both the customer experience and day-to-day problem solving. Just as importantly, we're looking for someone who will take pride in representing The Old Bank, care about its reputation, and genuinely enjoy being part of what makes the venue special.

Pay: 36,000.00-40,000.00 per year
