After celebrating our centenary in 2023, Dunblane New Golf Club has entered an exciting new chapter -- and we're looking for a dynamic, forward-thinking General Manager to help lead the way.

With ongoing investment in course development and maintenance, the new General Manager will help steward a facility that already stands out for quality and has the potential to reach even higher standards.

The Role



As General Manager you will lead daily operations, uphold governance, drive financial performance, and enhance member experience. You'll manage departments, oversee compliance, support events, develop staff, grow membership, and strengthen commercial opportunities while ensuring our clubhouse, course and estate operate to the highest standards.

Operational Leadership

- Oversee the smooth running of all clubhouse and course activities, ensuring facilities, equipment, and the wider estate are maintained to high standards through both planned and responsive upkeep within the available budget.

People Management

- You must be able to demonstrate personal resilience and composure when managing diverse stakeholder expectations, while leading and supporting department heads, encouraging a culture of cooperation, accountability, and high performance across every area of the Club.

Compliance & Standards

- Acting as company secretary you must uphold all regulatory, legal, and statutory obligations, while reporting to the Board ensuring accurate completion and appropriate distribution of papers & minutes.

Workforce Development

- Manage staffing structures, recruitment, training, and ongoing development to deliver efficient operations and an outstanding member and guest experience.

Financial Stewardship

- Own the Club's budgeting, forecasting, and financial outcomes, ensuring long-term sustainability and responsible growth.

Membership Engagement

- Drive initiatives that attract new members, enhance engagement, and support strong member retention across all categories.

Events & Activities

- Lead the organisation and delivery of the Club's golfing and social programmes, ensuring a varied and appealing calendar throughout the year.

Strategic Delivery

- Collaborate closely with the Board to progress the Club's strategic objectives and maintain clear, consistent communication with members.

External Partnerships

- Develop effective relationships with governing bodies, community organisations, and local partners, representing the Club with professionalism.

Commercial Growth

- Develop and implement initiatives that strengthen revenue performance across marketing, hospitality, and general operations, delivering continuous year-on-year improvement.

What We Are Looking For



Deep experience in managing a golf club or similar premium leisure/hospitality environment. A confident leader with a track record of developing diverse teams and working with Committees or Boards. Commercially aware, financially competent, and able to drive sustainable revenue growth. An excellent communicator with strong interpersonal, organisational, and diplomatic skills. Knowledgeable in governance, compliance, and health & safety, with respect for the traditions of private member clubs. Flexible, adaptable, and comfortable with weekend or seasonal demands. Desirable: CMAE, GCMA, or equivalent management qualification.
