Job Overview

We are seeking an experienced and dynamic General Manager to oversee the daily operations of our establishment. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills and a passion for delivering exceptional service in a hospitality environment. This role requires a hands-on approach, with the ability to manage a diverse team while ensuring high standards of food safety and production.

The business is currently undergoing a small refurb and will be closed every Monday and Tuesday, and evenings only on Wednesday and Thursdays. The hours for the position would be 40 per week mainly evenings and weekends.

Duties

Lead and supervise all aspects of the establishment, including front-of-house and back-of-house operations. Ensure compliance with food safety regulations and maintain high standards of cleanliness and hygiene. Oversee food preparation and production processes, ensuring quality and consistency in all dishes served. Manage inventory levels, including ordering supplies and controlling costs. Develop and implement training programmes for staff, focusing on leadership, team management, and customer service excellence. Foster a positive work environment that encourages teamwork and collaboration among staff members. Handle customer inquiries and complaints effectively, ensuring a high level of satisfaction. Collaborate with other departments to enhance service delivery and operational efficiency.

Qualifications

Proven experience in a managerial role within the hospitality industry, preferably in hotels or restaurants. Strong supervisory skills with the ability to lead a diverse team effectively. Knowledge of food safety standards and best practices in food production. Experience in cooking or bartending is advantageous but not essential. Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written. Strong organisational abilities with attention to detail. Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends as required.
