The Jolly Drover is a traditional country pub nestled in the heart of Liss, Petersfield. With six cosy en-suite guest rooms, a 35-cover restaurant, a small bar area with an open fireplace, and an additional 20-cover bar space, this charming inn offers a true taste of classic English hospitality.


We're looking for a

hands-on and driven General Manager

to take the reins and help shape the next chapter for The Jolly Drover. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with strong leadership skills, a passion for hospitality, and a real flair for business development.

About the Role

The successful candidate will:


Take full responsibility for the day-to-day running of the pub, restaurant, and guest accommodation. Lead, motivate, and support the existing team, ensuring great service and a positive working environment. Drive business growth -- particularly by developing and growing food sales. Bring fresh ideas and direction to enhance the customer experience and the pub's local reputation. Use your creativity to improve the business in various areas including input in a planned investment in the accommodation. Take ownership of marketing and social media, building engagement and brand awareness online. Ensure the smooth operation of all areas including compliance, stock control, and financial performance.

About You

We're looking for someone who is:


Experienced in hospitality management, ideally in a pub or small hotel setting. Business-minded, confident in identifying opportunities to improve sales and profitability. Skilled in social media and marketing, with a creative approach to promoting events, menus, and offers. A strong and supportive leader, passionate about training and developing the team. Customer-focused with a genuine love for great food, drink, and service. Reliable, organised, and comfortable working in a fast-paced, hands-on environment.
