Job Overview

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced General Manager to oversee the Cafe at Foyles, ensuring the highest standards of service and operational excellence.

The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in the hospitality industry, with a focus on managing a team to deliver excellent service, maintain food hygiene records and standards, and deal with the day to day operational issues.

This role requires exceptional leadership skills, a passion for food safety, and the ability to manage a diverse team effectively.

Responsibilities

Lead and manage daily operations of the cafe, ensuring a great guest experience. Supervise staff, including hiring, training, and performance management. Oversee food preparation and production processes to maintain quality standards. Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, particularly in food safety practices. Develop and implement operational policies and procedures to enhance efficiency. Manage inventory control and ordering of supplies to minimise waste. Foster a positive work environment that encourages teamwork and collaboration. Engage with customers to gather feedback and improve service delivery. Arrange and deliver occasional drinks and canape receptions. Maintain accurate financial records.

Requirements

Proven experience in a supervisory or management role within the hospitality industry. Experience in team management, demonstrating effective leadership capabilities. Strong understanding of food safety regulations and best practices in food production. Excellent communication skills with the ability to engage effectively with staff and customers alike. A genuine interest in hospitality and delivering exceptional customer service. Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends as required.
