We're Hiring! Full time General Manager

At The Good Ol' Deli, we're a small, passionate team serving specialty coffee, handcrafted sandwiches, fresh sourdough, and classic deli fare. We're looking for a friendly, reliable person who can confidently switch between managing the team as well as front-of-house service, barista duties, and hands-on help in our kitchen and bakery.

Responsibilities

Oversee daily operations of the delicatessen, including food preparation, production, and service Ensure compliance with food safety and sanitation regulations Manage inventory and ordering of supplies Administer staff rotas, payroll, health & safety procedures, and fire marshal duties Develop and implement strategies to improve deli performance and profitability Train and supervise staff members, providing guidance and support as needed Create and maintain a positive work environment for employees Handle customer complaints and resolve issues in a timely manner Stay updated on industry trends and make recommendations for menu changes or improvements
Skills & Requirements

Strong culinary knowledge and experience in food preparation and production Willingness to learn sandwich and bread making Barista experience, with confidence in preparing artisan coffees Knowledge of food safety standards and best practices Familiarity with kitchen operations and equipment Proven leadership skills with the ability to effectively manage a team Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment Understanding of financial management principles Experience in the restaurant or hospitality industry, preferably in a supervisory or managerial role

We'd Love to Hear From You If You:

Have at least 1 year of supervisory experience (preferred) Bring 1 year of restaurant or hospitality management experience (preferred) Have 1 year of barista experience and feel confident preparing quality coffee (preferred) Possess 1 year of hospitality or customer service experience (preferred) Are a strong team player with excellent communication skills Can stay calm, organised, and focused under pressure Are happy to jump between FOH and BOH tasks depending on the day Are reliable, proactive, and willing to pitch in wherever needed Are available for early starts (7am) and weekend shifts Live locally -- bonus points!
