We are seeking a dynamic and experienced General Manager to oversee our cafe, ensuring the highest standards of service and operational efficiency. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in the hospitality industry, with a particular focus on Team and Stock Management. This role requires a passion for service, as well as a (relatively) healthy lifestyle, alongside an commitment to food safety and customer satisfaction.
Duties
Lead and overseee all aspects of the business, including kitchen operations, staff supervision, and customer service.
Oversee food preparation processes to ensure quality and adherence to food safety standards.
Develop and implement training programmes for staff, creating a safe and warm environment for the team
Manage inventory levels, ordering stock as necessary to maintain operational efficiency.
Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations
Collaborate with the team to create new menu ideas following trends and innovation
Handle customer inquiries and complaints professionally, enhancing guest satisfaction.
Monitor financial performance, including budgeting and cost control measures.
Manage a small team, creating rotas, handling time off requests.
Requirements
Proven experience in a managerial role within the hospitality sector, preferably in a kitchen or restaurant environment.
Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and supervise a diverse team effectively.
In-depth knowledge of food safety regulations and best practices in food preparation.
Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with a focus on customer engagement.
Experience in bartending or knowledge of beverage service is advantageous.
A culinary background or experience as a cook is preferred but not essential.
Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends as required by operational needs.
