Braybrooke Beer Company is looking for an inspiring General Manager to take the reins at The Swan at Braybrooke - our flagship village pub and dining destination, less than 2 miles from our brewery and on site Taproom. This is a unique opportunity to become the beating heart of both a much-loved country pub and a growing local brewery business.

Braybrooke Beer Company is a specialist lager brewery with a passion for quality, community, and hospitality. The Swan at Braybrooke, our beautifully restored pub, celebrates great beer, elevated pub food, and warm, genuine hosting. Alongside the pub, our nearby brewery Taproom draws customers from across the region, creating exciting crossover opportunities for events, experiences, and shared audiences.

The Role

We're looking for a hands-on, charismatic leader who will embody the role of a true pub landlord - someone who thrives on hospitality, knows how to create atmosphere, and leads from the front with presence, energy, and care.

As General Manager, you'll:

Be the face of The Swan, building lasting relationships with regulars, locals, and visitors. Drive the business forward by elevating the customer experience and delivering consistently excellent service. Constantly look for ways to generate revenue, increase footfall, and improve standards across all areas of the business - from introducing brewery-led events and food & drink pairings, to seasonal menus, local collaborations, and creative use of our pub spaces. Manage and inspire a team, ensuring they share your passion for hospitality. Oversee day-to-day operations including staffing, stock, and financial performance. Work closely with Braybrooke Beer Company to create synergy between The Swan and the Taproom, shaping events and experiences that celebrate our beers and strengthen our brand.
About You

A natural host with warmth, confidence, and a genuine love for pubs and people. Proven experience in pub, bar, or hospitality management with strong leadership skills. Commercially minded with a track record of growing business performance. Results-driven, with a proactive approach to driving revenue and standards. Organised, energetic, and able to juggle operational detail with big-picture thinking. Excited by the opportunity to be part of a respected brewery and a dynamic local business.

Experience

Proven experience in a supervisory role within the restaurant or hospitality industry is essential. Strong culinary experience with knowledge of food preparation techniques and kitchen operations. Previous experience in team management, demonstrating effective leadership skills. Familiarity with food safety regulations and best practices in food production. Excellent communication skills with the ability to motivate and inspire team members.
