General Manager
to oversee the daily operations of our hospitality establishment and have strong communication and reporting to Directors. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, extensive restaurant and hospitality experience, and a passion for delivering exceptional service. This role involves managing teams, ensuring food safety standards, and maintaining high-quality culinary and customer service standards. The successful applicant will play a pivotal role in driving the success of our venue while fostering a positive environment for staff and guests alike.
Responsibilities
Lead and supervise all aspects of restaurant or hotel operations, ensuring smooth day-to-day functioning
Oversee food preparation, cooking, and food safety protocols to maintain high standards of quality and hygiene
Manage team members, including hiring, training, scheduling, and performance evaluations
Ensure excellent customer service by supervising serving staff and addressing guest concerns promptly
Coordinate with kitchen staff to ensure efficient food production and timely service
Maintain compliance with health and safety regulations across all departments
Develop strategies to optimise operational efficiency and maximise profitability
Oversee inventory management, including ordering supplies and controlling costs
Implement marketing initiatives to attract new customers and retain existing clientele
Foster a positive work environment that promotes teamwork, leadership, and professional development
Qualifications
Proven supervising experience within the hospitality or restaurant industry
Extensive restaurant experience with knowledge of food preparation, cooking, and food safety standards
Strong team management skills with the ability to lead diverse teams effectively
Background in culinary arts or hospitality management is highly desirable
Experience in food production, kitchen operations, or hotel management is advantageous
Excellent organisational skills with the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
Leadership qualities with a focus on staff development and customer satisfaction
Knowledge of food safety regulations and best practices in food handling
Previous barista or serving experience is beneficial but not essential
