We are seeking an experienced and dynamic General Manager to oversee all aspects of our daily operations ensuring that all departments align with the strategic vision of our club to provide our members and guests with an excellent experience.
The position requires a highly motivated professional capable of working efficiently and to the highest standards. The appointed person will actively participate in the Club's future strategic development and play a key role in optimising the Club's full potential.
He or she will liaise regularly and appropriately with the Chairman of the Management Committee and Management Committee members and all other relevant Stakeholders that may be required. The Manager will be accountable for delivery on profit and performance targets agreed and set by the Management Committee and provide leadership to the staff and members, driving progress in facility upgrades and member and visitor experiences.
Responsibilities
Manage and motivate a diverse team of golf operations, greenkeeping, membership sales, hospitality and events.
Manage and supervise staff, including hiring, training, scheduling, and performance evaluations
Build and maintain excellent relationships with local networks to promote awareness of West Middlesex Golf Club.
Foster a positive team environment through effective leadership and communication
Collaborate with suppliers and vendors to maintain quality supplies and equipment
Ensure the golf course and buildings are presented and maintained to the highest standard.
Ensure that the Club operates efficiently and profitably.
Ensure compliance with all UK health & safety, employment, governance legislation.
Be a visible and approachable presence throughout the Club, building strong relationships with members.
Support the delivery of an engaging events calendar, including golf competitions, activities, and social occasions.
Prepare and manage operating and capital budgets in line with the strategic goals set by the Management Committee.
Monitor financial performance, implement cost controls, and identify opportunities to maximise revenue.
Ensure transparent financial reporting and accountability reporting in a timely manner to the Management Committee.

equirements
Proven experience in a senior management role, preferably within the golf industry.
Flexibility to work irregular hours as dictated by the business needs.
Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and develop teams and to provide leadership and clear direction across all departments.
A knowledge and appreciation of the game of golf and Club environment would be a strong advantage with an understanding of golf operations, membership management, and service delivery.
Proven capability in terms of managing budgets, oversight of preparation of accurate financial information with an understanding of management accounts and cash flow control.
Familiarity with UK employment law, health & safety, and hospitality regulations.
Employment Package
Salary 40,000 - 50,000 pa
Employer pension contribution
Holidays 20 days plus bank holidays
Working hours 40 pw with scheduled weekends plus additional hours should the need arise
