We are on the hunt for a General Manager to join Haar Restaurant. We're looking for someone with exceptional people skills, natural charisma, and a passion for food and drink. But first, here's a little bit about us:
Chef Dean Banks, a finalist on MasterChef: The Professionals, opened his flagship restaurant in St Andrews in Spring 2019. Since then, Haar has earned recognition as one of the top sustainable restaurants in the UK, has been featured in the Michelin Guide every year since 2019, and holds 3 AA Rosettes.
In 2021, Haar with Rooms launched, offering six boutique rooms and immediately achieving 5 AA Gold Stars.
The restaurant provides a relaxed setting for Dean Banks' innovative cooking, showcasing the finest produce Scotland has to offer. Haar's menu constantly evolves with the seasons, celebrating Scotland's natural land and sea resources. Guests can enjoy both a lunch and an evening tasting menu, perfectly paired with an exquisite selection of wines.
About the Role
Your Roles:
- To run the business with the passion as though it was your own business
- being a face of the restaurant and rooms, leading from the front
- Budgeting and forecasting
- Controlling costs & driving sales growth
- Help establish, develop and execute sales plan
- Responsibility for reporting P&L
- Ensuring consistently excellent customer service is delivered.
- Managing service standards and staff development.

The person we are looking for:
- Experience in a similar role.
- A strong commercial awareness
- Knowledge of drinks; including wine, spirits, cocktails
- WSET level 2
- Knowledge of food; including allergens, food safety
- Great leadership skills and enjoy working as part of a team in a social environment.
- The ability to communicate at all levels
